St. Xavier
Class of 2008
Darius Ashley RB
");

By David Baugh

In football, you have to make the most out of every opportunity, just like everything else in life.  That is the philosophy adopted by Darius Ashley, who helped lead Cincinnati St. Xavier to their first ever state title as a sophomore in 2005.  The 5'8, 185 pounder didn't begin the season as a starter, but once he got his opportunity to show what he could do, he wouldn't see the bench for the ret of the season.  Ashley is a tough, physical tailback who refuses to go down on the first hit.  He possesses the abilty, confidence, and poise to make big plays in clutch situations against the toughest of competition.  You couldn't have asked more out of a sophomore playing in Cincinnati's Greater Catholic League, which is arguably one of the toughest conferences in the entire country.  The scary thing is that he is only a junior now, so the sky is the limit for this young Bomber.
