Thaddeus Gibson
Euclid High School 2006

Ohio State

By David Baugh
Simply put, Thaddeus Gibson is a playmaker.  At 6'3, 220, he is one of the toughest forces that you'll ever see on the defensive side of the ball.  He's very explosive off of the line of scrimmage.  He has the quickness to move around opposing offensive tackles, but he has the toughnesa and the "mean streak" to plow right threw them.  Despite all of his qualities on defense, the thing that impresses me the most about Gibson is that he had success returning punts in high school.  His size, quickness, and toughness will make him a solid outside lionebacker at The Ohio State University.  It will be interesting to see how soon he will get on the field, but the Buckeyes have some holes to fill on defense.  While a red shirt year would do him good, I won't be surprised to see Gibson in the rotation as a freshman.
